OSMHC students have many different health care programs to choose from:
Therapeutic Massage
- Diploma in Therapeutic Massage – To get started in your new career ASAP, this program includes the core courses you’ll need to gain the
skills and knowledge required for entry-level employment in the massage
therapy. This 50 credit program can be completed in as little as 10 months. Download Program Outline
- Associate of Science in Therapeutic Massage – This program includes the same core courses as the diploma and adds the general education courses required for a college associate degree, giving the graduate greater opportunity for career advancement. This program is 71 credits and
typically takes 16 months to complete. (Note: for those transferring in
a completed OSMT diploma, it will only take approximately 6 months to complete the associate degree.) Download Program Outline
Medical Assisting
- Diploma in Medical Assisting
– Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks to keep
the offices of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, optometrists,
pediatricians and other doctors running smoothly. Clinical duties may
include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, giving
injections, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing
patients for examination, tending to wounds, and assisting the
physician during patient exams. This 12-month program provides the academic knowledge and hands-on skills required for entry-level medical assistant positions. Download Program Outline
- Associate of Science in Medical Assisting – For those
seeking more opportunities for career growth, this program adds a
well-rounded general education to the core medical assisting courses.
A 65-credit program, students typically complete the core courses at
the campus and take the general education courses online for a program

Medical Billing and Insurance Coding
- Diploma in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding
– Well-trained medical billing and insurance coding professionals make
sure insurance companies and patients are billed correctly for the
health care they received from a provider. Insurance coders also learn
a universal code system that is used to label each health care
procedure, which greatly simplifies the billing process. This career is
perfect for the detail-oriented person who has an interest in
healthcare and the human body. The 12-month diploma will prepare students for entry into this field. Download Program Outline

Associate of Science in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding –
This 65-credit program takes approximately 16 months to complete.
Incorporating general education classes into the core medical billing
and insurance coding curriculum, graduates of this degree will have
increased opportunities for career growth and advancement. The core
classes can be taken first so the student can begin working in the
field while finishing the general education courses online.

Health Information Management
- Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management –
This program is designed for those who wish to be experts in the
management, security, and analysis of electronic patient files. Topics
of study include medical science, insurance coding and diagnosis,
information systems, legal and ethical requirements of health care
delivery, employee management, and health care data analysis. This program is 124 credits and
typically
takes 36 months to complete. Deliveres in a hybrid format, students
will take some classes at the campus and some classes online. Graduates
of this CAHIIM-approved program will be eligible to sit for the
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential offered

Getting Started
The first step is to
click on the Apply Online link on the left, fill out the Application
form and submit. Once we receive it we will contact you to help you
through the rest of the application and enrollment process.
You will notice there are several parts to the application process.
Your academic record and interview are the most important factors in
the selection process, however we are also very interested in knowing
about the combination of qualities and aspirations that make you
distinctive. Please keep this in mind while completing the application.
Application and Enrollment Requirements
(applications will not be processed until complete)
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Applicants should
submit a completed application at least 30 days prior to their intended
start date and must be physically able to perform the movements
inherent to their program.
All applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Review Committee and evaluated on the following:
- Verified high school education (Diploma, Transcripts or GED/HSED)
- Score on the entrance assessment
- Recommendation by the Admissions Advisor
- Motivation displayed by the applicant
- Application for admissions
- Recent photograph
- College Transcripts (if applicable)
- Enrollment Fee of $25 (check, money order or credit cards are accepted)
- College Transcripts (if applicable)
- Additional steps may be required depending on the student's academic program
Due to limited class space and high demand, prompt submission of your
application is recommended to secure your place in the class. Admission
is based upon information presented in the application, interview and
the timely receipt of the enrollment requirements and fees. The date of
application submission will be marked by the date that all application
requirements have been satisfied. Incomplete applications will not be
processed.
